Fellow M/M author Julie Lynn Hayes recently interviewed Tony of Sonoran Heat over at Yaoi Radius. Well, she started out interviewing Tony, then Josh showed up, too. This is the first "character interview" I've ever done, actually, and it was loads of fun! Check it out at:

I hope readers will enjoy getting to know Tony and Josh a little better before their debut at Amber Allure on September 5th!

What a fun idea! I've heard of interviewing your character in the early stages of writing the first draft to help fill out his background, but after the writing can be good as well.
Val ~ I've seen other authors do these, but admittedly thought the concept was kind of weird. LOL A few readers mentioned they love character interviews, however, so when Julie approached me with the idea, and said hey, I'll try anything once -- maybe twice!
The process felt a bit like RPG at first, but Julie soon put me -- or should I say Tony -- at ease. It was a lot more fun than I expected, and I think some of my other characters may step up to the interview plate in the future.
Very revealing...
It's a trip, isn't it? After I'd seen several character interviews, I did one with Jackson Spey on my blog. And damned if he didn't seem to come alive, assume his own voice, and take over!
Really, we all need to accept the fact that weirdness is part and parcel of being a fiction writer. No more apologies! ;-)
KZ ~ As the interview progressed, I suddenly realized "Well, this is no different from getting in my character's head when I'm writing a book." It made more sense at that point, anyway.
Still, we authors must contend with funny looks at the mention of, you know, the voices in our head...
ID word is "meraphor"... a merry metaphor?
